Do I need a permit to rent a dumpster?
You can have the roll off container on your driveway, jobsite or another piece of private property without city permission. To keep your bin in the street or blocking the sidewalk, get a Use of Right-of-Way Permit from Lansing’s Public Service Department in advance.
