Do I need a permit to rent a dumpster?
New York City’s Department of Transportation requires a Construction Debris or Commercial Refuse Container permit for your roll off container. You need this permit to keep a dumpster rental on any city street or sidewalk. Reach out to our team for more details, as we must get this permit for you.
Will I need to be present for my dumpster rental delivery?
No. We make renting a dumpster seamless, so you don’t need to be there on delivery day. However, be sure to open any gates to your property and move any obstacles out of the way ahead of time. You can lay down plywood or use colored tape to mark the delivery spot for our driver, but it’s not required. Contact us today for more delivery tips.
Should I cover my roll off dumpster if it rains or snows?
Is a Nor’easter heading your way up the East Coast? It’s best to cover your dumpster rental with a tarp secured by tie-down straps or bungee cords. This keeps rainwater or snow from collecting in your bin, adding excess weight. Absorbent materials like dirt and carpet also become heavier when wet. If too much rainwater collects in your bin, it could exceed your dumpster’s weight limit, leading to an overage fee. How It Works
1. Choose a size and delivery spot. We require 60 feet of space in a straight line and 23 feet of vertical clearance.
2. Prepare for delivery. Remove any vehicles, materials or low-hanging obstacles to ensure we can deliver your dumpster and to avoid a trip fee.
3. Fill up your dumpster. Remember to keep your included weight limit in mind to prevent overage fees.
4. Schedule your pickup. To ensure pickup and avoid a trip fee, your dumpster must be accessible and only contain approved debris piled no higher than the sidewalls.
