Each of our dumpster rentals has a set weight limit, which refers to the amount of debris included in your quoted price. Dumpster weight limits help simplify your project planning and are typically measured in tons to align with landfill pricing. While specific limits vary by dumpster size, our dumpsters have a maximum weight capacity of 10 tons to ensure safe and efficient hauling.

Your dumpster's capacity isn't just about size — it's a combination of weight and volume. Understanding these two factors helps you choose the right dumpster and avoid overage fees.
Weight limit is based on tonnage. This is the amount of debris, measured in tons, that your dumpster can safely hold and transport.
Volume is based on cubic yards. This measures the physical space inside the dumpster, determining how much material can fit inside.
Small but mighty! Our 10 yard typically handles 1 to 2 tons, but don't let its size fool you. If you’re tossing heavy debris like concrete or bricks, it's a champion, taking up to 10 tons.
The versatile virtuoso! Our 12 yard dumpster manages 1 to 2 tons of regular debris or up to 10 tons of heavy materials. Perfect for those small to mid-size home projects where you need a bit more oomph.
The Goldilocks of dumpsters! With a 1 to 2 ton limit, it's about 2 feet longer and a tad taller than the 10 yard. Ideal for bulky, lighter items when you need more space, not more weight.
The popular kid on the block! Handling 2 to 3 tons, this size is a crowd-pleaser. It's the sweet spot of volume and compact design, fitting nicely in your driveway while tackling big jobs.
The cleanup crusader! With a 3 to 4 ton capacity, this bin is ready for small commercial projects or full-house purges. When you need serious volume, the 30 yard has your back.
The titan of trash! Boasting a 4 to 5 ton limit, this behemoth is our largest offering. Whether you're overhauling a mansion or clearing a commercial site, the 40 yard is your go-to giant.

Empty dumpsters weigh anywhere from 3,500 to 6,500 pounds, depending on their size. But don't worry about that — we only care about what you put in it. The dumpster's own weight doesn't count toward your weight limit.
The maximum weight limit for each roll off container is 10 tons. If your dumpster weighs more than this, our driver cannot safely haul it away. In the event of an overloaded dumpster, we may ask you to remove contents or our driver will leave without taking the container, which will result in additional fees. Keep in mind that heavy debris such as rock, brick or concrete can quickly exceed your dumpster’s weight limit even if your container is only partially full.
Your roll off dumpster is weighed at the landfill before and after emptying. The difference in those two numbers tells us exactly how much your debris weighed and gives us an accurate disposal cost.
When you order your dumpster, we’ll ask questions about what you’re disposing of to help gauge the weight of your debris. This information helps us suggest a suitable roll off container size for your project. You can also use our dumpster weight calculators to estimate the tonnage of your materials.
The best way to avoid additional fees during your dumpster rental period is to make sure you don’t overfill your dumpster and nothing is above the dumpster walls or hanging over the edges. You should also avoid disposing of any prohibited items that the landfills can't process.
You can rent multiple dumpsters at once, and depending on availability, we can usually deliver them together or staggered. If you’re short on space but still need multiple containers, we can set up empty-and-return service so you have an empty roll off dumpster on-site when you need it.
From compact 10 yard dumpsters to generous 40 yard containers, we’ve got your mess covered. Learn more about our range of roll off dumpster sizes.
